Song Of The Week: Faith Healer

Alternate rock fans will recognize the members of Blaqk Audio well enough, albeit as two of the folks behind the band AFI. However, in this current form, Blaqk Audio has gone from punk rock to "dark wave" synthpop in the vein of Depeche Mode and the Human League with an edge. Their first album, CexCells, was brilliant, and their most recent sophomore album, Bright Black Heaven, is looking to carve out Blaqk Audio's place in the current dance/synthpop genre.

"Faith Healer" is a single from their album Bright Black Heaven and features many of the classic markings of a solid Blaqk Audio track, including a mixture of synthetic beats and piano as well as Davey Havok's vocals that deeply harken back to the voice of Depeche Mode's own lead vocalist, Dave Gahan (whose own solo efforts should be given a listen to by both DM and BA's fans alike).

You can order the Bright Black Heaven album from iTunes here and from Amazon here.
